Damon Gannett

I heard about this article in the Billings Gazette and thought those of you who haven't already seen it should! It's all about my father-in-law, Damon Gannett :) Check it out... it's pretty sweet!

Court advocate recognized
Billings resident Damon Gannett has been named a 2008 "Angel in Adoption" for his work as a court advocate for abused and neglected children by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont.

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute honored Gannett and more than 180 others on Tuesday.

Gannett is being honored for his 31 years working as a voice for abused and neglected children as they navigate through the legal system in Billings and surrounding areas. Gannett has represented thousands of children from the removal from their homes to their adoptions.

The Angels in Adoption program provides an opportunity for all members of the U.S. Congress to honor the work of their constituents who have enriched the lives of foster children and orphans.

Damon has been a hero of mine ever since he let me sit by him at a Griz game in Missoula (at least, I THINK he let me - I may have just DECIDED to sit there, without his permission. But by God, he let me).

Way to go DG!
